Patients with urgent, non-life-threatening complaints benefit strongly from the immediate treatment given in a less chaotic and costly environment than is found in the typical hospital emergency room. Even though two nearby hospitals serve Batavia, Advocate Health Care -- one of the nation's leading integrated delivery systems - recognized the fast-growing Kane County community's need for a state-of-the-art facility to provide this level of specialized care.
Dreyer Medical Clinic's -- Advocate's for-profit medical group -- strategic objective is to make quality health care convenient and accessible in the communities it serves. Dreyer chose Alter+Care to develop a 3,300 SF urgent-care center on a turnkey design/build basis to make this level of care more accessible to Batavia residents. Alter+Care supervised the process from start to finish, helped locate an appropriate site, and selected an architect who designed the facility in accordance with clear-cut community architectural covenants. Alter Construction Group was the design/builder, and completed Dreyer's Batavia urgent-care facility on time and within budget. The building has five examination and treatment areas and a state-of-the-art radiology facility.
Established during the 1920s, Dreyer is significantly increasing its presence throughout the rapidly expanding Fox Valley base of operations. The overriding goal is to position community-based physician practice groups and stand-alone urgent-care medical services close to where people live and work as an alternative to costly traditional emergency room treatment.
